satisfying mediums I have ever worked with. Working with gourds can be challenging,
sometimes tedious, and always demanding. However the results are always worth it!
The pieces created can express the full range of feelings you want to be surrounded with.

Gourd Art
This sculpture is multiple gourds with clay feet. He measures aproximately 13" tall and 11" wide.
The "Blue Footed Boobie" is a bird found only in the Galopagus Islands.
He is a wonderful creatue to work with, so much character. I smiled all through his creation and couldn't stop looking at him when I was done! SOLD

This piece is done on a natural gourd background, hollowed out to create a vessel you can use ( or not).
The outines are burned in , and the color is ink stained. it depicts a colorful butterfly resting on a vine that goes all around the vessel. the outside is finished in a high gloss sealer, and the outside is painted in a turquoise color.

Toucan
This piece is a box, he measures aprox.9"tall and 6" wide, and is sitting on a square base. He is painted in acrylics and is sculpted from two gourds. The outside is done in a satin finish, and the inside is a matte paint.
Tabby Kitten Box
This little fellow measures aprox 11" tall (counting the tail) and 5" wide. He sits on a heart shaped base, and is done in acrylic paint with a satin finish. He opens to store small objects, and the inside is pinted in a matte finish SOLD
Red Rose Box
This piece is done on a natural gourd with the design burned in and the flowers and foilage is ink stained,and finished in a high gloss outside, and
painted red inside. It is topped with a crystal and brass knob. It measures aprox. 7" tall and 9" wide.

Pelican
This sculpture was created from two gourds, and stands aprox. 14" tall and 8" wide. He has clay feet, and is painted with acrylic paints with a satin finish. He attracts alot of attention where ever he goes!
White Flower Vine Vase
This one is burned into a natural gourd and then the background is stained with a burgandy ink , and the fflowers and vines are stained, then sealed with a high gloss finish outside and painted inside. It measures aprox. 5.5" tall and 7" wide.
Peacock
The peacock measures aprox. 15.5" tall and 8" wide. He is done in the burn and stain method and th natural variations of the gourd bring out a suttle texture in his feathers. I think he would make a wonderful vessel for dried greenery with a double row of peacock feathers in the back row!SOLD
Mocking Bird
Measuring 7.5" tall and 5.5" wide, this little fellow will store small items. He is painted with acrylics and sits on an oval base of small almond color flowers and leaves. His tail is made from two slivers of the inside layer of the mahogany nut.
Grey Bunny Box
Is he waiting patiently for an offering? Measuring 7.5" tall and 5" wide he waits for you to store your small treasures. He is painted in acrylics in and out. the outside is a satin finish.
Sea Horse and Friends
An under sea vision in burn and ink. This box measures aprox 5" tall and 6" wide, the knob is a natural shell that set the colors of the box.
Red Flower Vessel
A small vessel ready to hold some narrow treasures, this one measures 5.5" tall and 4" wide . it is done in burn and ink with high gloss finish outside and matte paint inside. It looks like a flower ready to open to full bloom.
Sunflower Vessel
A natural Gourd Burned and ink Stained in very suttle
shades to blend softly with the gourd. Inside is painted in a clay color to accent the design. It measures aprox 5.5" tall and 6.5" wide.

Rust Color Tabby
A Rusty color fellow with "where's my dinner" eyes, done in acrylics in and out he sits on a square base, and measures aprox. 9.5"(with tail) and 4" wide
Garden Watcher
Twin Parrots
The twin Parrots are done in burn and ink stain method,to make good use of the natural markings on this gourd. The inside is painted in a blending color so it does not detract from the natural markings, only the parrots catch your eye first and leads it to the texture provided by nature. Measuring 5" tall and 6.5" wide it makes a wonderful accent peice.
Wren
This little bird brings the outside in with his sweet face and tail made from the inside layer of the mahogany nut. H measures 4" Tall and 4" wide, and is entirely painted in acrylics with a satin finish. Inside is a coral color matte. He will also hold small treasures.
This peice is a mixed media piece with her hair being the natural stem of the gourd with a bird holding her pony tail. She is done in the burn and ink stain method for most, and acrylic facial features watching over an acrylic bunny as he holds his dinner. She measures aprox. 13" tall and 6" wide.
